Get ready to have your historical misconceptions shattered and your funny bones tickled at the spectacular musical, SIX!

This isn’t your average night out at the theatre. This is a pop concert, slap-fighting its way through British history, where the six wives of Henry VIII are determined to reclaim their crowns, and trust me, they are not playing nice!

From the moment the curtain rises, you’re plunged into a whirlwind of catchy pop tracks, spectacular choreography, and a dazzling display of girl power so fierce it could make Beyoncé blush. Think of it as Glee meets Monty Python with a splash of Tudor drama!

Each queen introduces herself through biographical bangers that’ll have you singing along before you even realise what’s happening. Who knew historical heartbreak could be this much fun?

LaSasha Aldredge’s Catherine of Aragon kicks things off with “No Way,” talking about Henry wanting to send her to a nunnery like it's a contemporary reality TV drama. You might just find yourself rooting for her like she’s the last contestant on a dating show because let’s face it, she basically is! Then, there’s Anne Boleyn, played with sass by Yna Montarde, who leads us into a chaotic love triangle where infidelity is just another Tuesday afternoon. If you think your dating history is messy, wait until you hear hers.

But don’t think for a second that things slow down for the lovely Jane Seymour (Emily Dawson). Sure, she’s the one who Henry, maybe, possibly, kind of actually loved, but she’s armed with a heart-wrenching vocal prowess ballad that makes it clear her love came with some serious conditions, sorry, not sorry, Henry!

The show shines brightest, though, when Anna of Cleves (Alexia McIntosh) steps up. She’s the queen who says, “Oh, you think your life is tough? Let me regale you with tales of living lavishly in a castle without a husband telling me what to do!” Her spirited “Get Down” will make you giggle and question why you’re not living your best life in a palace right this moment.

Let’s not forget the other queens, Katherine Howard(Sammy Timbers), who brings the spicy drama with tales of her many suitors (and a few not-so-great experiences). Their banter is as sharp as a Tudor sword, and the audience is treated to a lyrical battle that could outshine any rap battle in history. And right when you think the competition is heating up, Catherine Parr (Layla Chivandire) drops a truth bomb that shakes the foundations of their little contest. It’s a beautiful moment that reclaims their individuality and scratches that itch we didn’t even know we had. Who says you need a man to feel empowered?!

By the time the finale rolls around, not only are you clapping and laughing, but you’re also reflecting on what it means to write your own story. These queens prove they don’t need a king to declare their worth, and you’ll leave humming “We’re Six” with a smile plastered across your face, feeling ready to conquer your own kingdom!

So, do yourself a favour. Get online, grab those tickets, and prepare for an evening brimming with catchy tunes, historical sass, and the kind of girl power that’s simply unmissable! Remember, it’s not just a musical—it’s an experience, and you NEED to be part of it, these queens are waiting, and they don’t take “no” for an answer!

Playing two shows per day, 5 pm and 8 pm at the Grand Opera House Belfast from Tuesday 10th June to Saturday 14th June. For tickets and further information, visit www.goh.co.uk
