Northern Ireland Hospice takes centre stage at Belfast’s Grand Opera House

Belfast’s Grand Opera House has announced the beginning of a new two-year charity partnership with Northern Ireland Hospice as chosen by Grand Opera House members of staff.

Northern Ireland Hospice is a local charity offering specialist respite, symptom management and end of life palliative care to over 3,500 children and adults each year across Northern Ireland.

Over the next two years, Grand Opera House staff will raise money with a programme of on-going activities, ranging from coffee mornings to competing in marathons and carrying out collections during performances of the forthcoming pantomime, Peter Pan, which starts on Saturday 2 December 2017.

Announcing the new partnership, Grand Opera House chief executive Ian Wilson said:

“The Grand Opera House staff and theatregoers have a long history of supporting local charities and I hope our partnership will help raise awareness of the Hospice’s work and raise essential funds so that NI Hospice may continue to support the 3,500 patients and their families availing of its services each year. We are delighted that the Hospice is taking centre stage in our fundraising activities over the next two years.”

“At NI Hospice, corporate support is vital to our success, and it is partnerships with companies like the Grand Opera House that enable us to continue to provide specialist palliative care to babies, children and adults with life-limiting and terminal illnesses.
