Glamorous Gays, Guys and Gals were out in Force at the GNI Awards 2017 supported by Santander

Thursday 26th October saw the annual GNI Awards take place at the Clayton Hotel Belfast, hosted by UTV’s Julian Simmons with Trudy Scrumptious co-hosting and taking the helm of the proceedings for the evening which had come after almost 50,000 votes had been cast across 19 award categories.

The evening kicked off with a prosecco reception with the vocal talents of the Tinkle Belle’s keeping the 260 strong guests entertained while the last finishing touches were being put to the function room. Once the doors were opened Union Streets Glitzy Glamour took to the stage to sing a few theatrical numbers before food was served. Guests dined on a 3 course meal consisting of soup, chicken supreme and a trio of mini deserts at tables dressed to impress with equally impressive guest goodie bags.

With food out of the way it was then time for the dynamic duo to take to the stage to present the awards, nominees sat with bated breath to see if they were lucky enough to win one of the 19 prestigious awards. The categories covered everything from Best LGBT venue to the ultimate accolade The Editor’s Choice Award which was won by local long standing Drag Queen Mizz May.

Our charity sponsor The Rainbow project then took to the stage to carry out their fundraising raffle which had 18 amazing prizes ranging from meals for 2 to a weekend in Berlin, on the evening almost £920 was raised.

It was then time the for the vivacious Vixens to take to the stage and entertain our guests till midnight were the party then carried on into the small hours at The Kremlin Nightclub.

All that remains to be said is thank you to our headline sponsor Santander, our charity sponsor The Rainbow Project, all the Award and table sponsors, nominees, entertainers, presenters and to all the businesses who contributed to our raffle and goodie bags, the awards would not be possible without all of you.

The night went sensationally, full of fun, frolics and awards, we are already looking forward to next year’s Awards so keep an eye out for further details!
