Titled "Everywhere I Went Led Me To Where I Didn't Want To Be," this highly anticipated release dropped TODAY and serves as a vibrant testament to his growth and evolution as an artist. This time around, Grennan invites us on a vivid journey, as colorful and intricate as the album title suggests, overflowing with self-reflection, catchy hooks, and uplifting melodies that are sure to resonate with listeners.

If you’re not already familiar with him, Tom Grennan is no newcomer to the music industry. He burst onto the charts in 2016 with the addictive guest feature on Chase & Status’s “All Goes Wrong,” quickly establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with. His debut album, "Lighting Matches,"released in 2018, unveiled his distinctive sound, peaking impressively at number five on the UK Albums Chart. Fast forward to 2021, when he struck gold with "Evering Road," which soared to the top of the charts, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in contemporary pop music.
With "Everywhere I Went Led Me To Where I Didn't Want To Be," Grennan is here to prove that he’s not merely resting on his past achievements. The album kicks off with “Full Attention,” an electrifying opener that radiates infectious energy and sets a vibrant tone for the tracks that follow. Collaborating with the esteemed Justin Tranter, known for crafting chart-topping hits for icons such as Britney Spears and Dua Lipa, Grennan delivers a polished pop sound that feels both fresh and nostalgic.
One of the standout singles, “Shadowboxing,” encapsulates the heart of this album beautifully. This poignant track delves deep into Grennan’s personal struggles with mental health, yet it exudes a powerful sense of triumph and growth. It’s an uplifting anthem about overcoming inner demons, telling a relatable story that many can connect with. Grennan describes it as a representation of the album's core message, a journey through hardship towards self-empowerment that truly delivers a punch!
With tracks like “Boys Don’t Cry,” “Celebrate,” and “Drama Queen,” Grennan dives into themes of love, friendship, and self-acceptance. Each song feels like a mirror reflecting his journey of growth as an artist and individual, showcasing his versatility while still retaining that signature sound that fans have come to adore.
I can’t help but rave about “Certified” . It's such a dynamic track radiating a disco-soaked energy that instantly elevates it to one of my favorites from the album along with the catchy new hit, “Boys Don’t Cry.” I'm eagerly anticipating hearing these gems all over the radio and, ideally, experiencing them live!
Then there’s “Higher,” which he gave us as a sneak peek of at Custom House Square last year and features an utterly irresistible beat that makes it nearly impossible to resist dancing along. Just picture yourself swaying to this vibrant track at a sun-soaked summer festival, it’s the epitome of a feel-good anthem!
Reflecting on Tom's incredible live performance at the Custom House Square gig fills me with joy! He has a remarkable ability to connect with his audience, effortlessly inviting everyone to join in the joyous chorus of “Higher,” while masterfully transitioning between soaring and subtle notes. Ever since that night, this infectious tune has been on repeat in my mind, especially after reveling in its well-deserved airplay.
What makes Grennan even more impressive is how his recordings capture the full magic of his live performances, a rare talent in today’s music landscape. If last year’s show at Gunnersbury Park, where he played to an ecstatic crowd of 25,000 fans, is any indication, the GRENNAN ’25 tour set for September promises to be an unmissable event.
It’s clear that Tom Grennan isn’t merely aiming to sustain his status as one of the UK’s most prominent artists; he’s fiercely determined to elevate his music to new heights. With over 1.5 million album sales and an astonishing 2.5 billion streams to his credit, he’s certainly proving his capabilities. This album stands as a seamless continuation of "What Ifs & Maybes" and unveils his evolution like never before.
With today's release of “Everywhere I Went Led Me To Where I Didn't Want To Be,” get ready for an album that promises to uplift and inspire even the newest of listeners. Tom Grennan is poised to astound us with this stunning addition to his discography, and believe me, you will love it!
