Calum Releases Coming Out Song
Those of you who have been to a Calum Scott concert this year will probably have shed a tear or two to what Calum himself describes "The most personal song i've ever written".
The song begins describing a young boy who was terrified of love, but he couldn't figure out why. Feeling he was going crazy, he plucked up the courage to talk to his mother. The response; I love you no matter what. Later in the song he tells a different tale when coming out to his friend group, wishing he'd never said a thing as his "world came crashing down". Calum has previously said that his friends disowned him when he came out to them.
Towards the end of this emotional roller coaster of a tune, he explains that he was still missing one special piece - he had yet to come out to his father. And this was where the song had us in bits. The response:
"Don’t try to be what you’re not. Cause I love you no matter what"
