Apollo Arts have secured the rights to stage Enda Walsh’s controversial play Chatroom during the East Side Arts Festival this August.
Social media has taken over the way we communicate, a virtual underworld is now thriving beneath our feet, or rather, behind our screens!
Six teenage characters communicate only via the internet. Conversations range in subject from Britney Spears to Willy Wonka to — suicide: Jim is depressed and talks of ending his life and Eva and William decide to do their utmost to persuade him to carry out his threat. From this chilling premise is forged a funny, compelling and uplifting play that tackles the issues of teenage life head-on and with great understanding.

From the writer of Disco Pigs, Once, and the Bafta-nominated Hunger comes this funny and immersive drama with a dark, chilling core. From the team that brought you the hugely successful 2017 revival of Christina Reid’s Joyriders!
Directed by Pauline Carville, Chatroom features a number of up and coming actors including Nathan Jones, Chloe Gilmore, Faith Dawson, Caleb Dickie, Luke Vance Brown & Hannah Reilly.
You can catch Chatroom at Apollo Arts Theatre, 14 -16B Castlereagh Road, Belfast on 1 st , 2 nd & 3 rd August at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available online, Click HERE or call 028 9045 1900.
