The Current took the Waterfront by Storm!
The Current - A play written, produced and directed by local talent Pamela Cassells had its preview on Saturday at the Waterfront Hall Studio Belfast and there was not a dry eye in the house to this harrowing tale of the effects of peer pressure and alcohol on today’s youth.
With a talented principle cast of 5 young rising local stars supported by a vocally strong ensemble all from Pamela’s performance school, tells the tale of love, adventure, loss and regret. A harrowing, hard hitting story that will strike an emotional cord with any adult or young person while delivering the important message on responsible drinking. Each of the cast brought their own personalities to their roles, to the point where I could relate each character to my friends and I in our younger years.
This pilot play was funded by local businesses and supported by the cast’s families and friends to make it happen in the hope that it will tour schools, youth groups to be part of the education of young people.
