LOVE ON THE STREET
LOVE EQUALITY ASKS ALLIES TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT AT ‘LOVE ON THE STREET’
As part of Northern Ireland LGBT Awareness week (15th – 21st May), Love Equality, the campaign for marriage equality in Northern Ireland, is taking the campaign to the streets to demonstrate how widespread support for marriage equality is and to answer questions from members of public on how this affects them, their families and their communities.
Love Equality volunteers will be at venues across Belfast between 11am-3pm on Tuesday 16th May and will be present at:
Kennedy Centre
Connswater Shopping Centre
Waterworks
Cornmarket
Queen’s University, Belfast Students’ Union
Speaking ahead of the event, Campaigns Officer for the Love Equality campaign, Stephen Donnan said: “The Love Equality campaign has been engaging with LGBT people, our allies and wider society across Northern Ireland. We have seen through polls and we at Love Equality have seen first-hand the overwhelming support for marriage equality in Northern Ireland. During LGBT Awareness week we are pleased to have volunteers across the city bringing our message of Love Equality directly to the people of Belfast. We want to spread a message of equality and inclusion during this important week. That is why we are asking people to get involved in the campaign for marriage equality.
