WILMA - Australia’s most famous ‘Queen of Online Drama’ launches new LGBTIQ online talk show: Where
Australia’s leading drag queen extraordinaire Wilma Bumhurt is set to light up screens around the world once more with her new online series Where’s Wilma? One-on-One. In this unique, tongue-in-cheek, candid interview series Wilma (aka Patrick James) reminisces about her amazing life and career, and explores the themes of identity, self-love and acceptance with each of her fabulous guests. In the first installment, Wilma gets up close and personal with acclaimed Australian director Stephan Elliott, national treasure Christine Anu, Broadway sensation Hayden Tee, Aussie musical theatre heartthrob Chris Durling and gossip columnist Jonathon Moran. The series will launch exclusively via The Horizon YouTube channel. The channel is one of the most successful in the world having racked up an astonishing 45 million views. It has over 110,000 subscribers and its daily viewership averages up to 60,000 views world-wide every day. Wilma is already Australia’s most successful online star thanks to her stellar performances in the world’s most watched gay web series - The Horizon. From her acid tongue to her killer legs, it’s Wilma’s touch of wisdom, strength and vulnerability that has captured the hearts of viewers around the world. Having truly earnt the “Queen of Online Drama” title, Wilma continues to captivate and empower the global LGBTQI community and is ready to create even more intrigue with Where’s Wilma? One-on-One. “I was tickled pink when I heard Where’s Wilma? will be launching on The Horizon YouTube Channel, says Wilma. “But I’m not surprised because I always thought it was only a matter of time until I got my own talk show, honestly! I mean let’s face it – who’s the perfect candidate to ask those tricky off-limit questions, get real answers and basically get away with anything? Me!” Most of all Wilma says she wants her guests to have fun and to feel relaxed. “My aim is that they feel comfortable enough to reveal a part of themselves that the audience hasn’t seen yet – which may or may not include their underwear!” Wilma recently caused a glitter storm in Los Angeles with the Beverly Hills premiere of The Horizon season five and six which featured her Emmy-Award winning friend Jai Rodriguez. Since then Wilma has appeared on numerous US talk shows and sipped cocktails with Hollywood’s elite. Locally Wilma has had a non-stop ride hosting the red carpet arrivals at both the 2015 TV Week Logies and AACTA Awards. She has also filmed the Screen Australia-commissioned The Horizon TV pilot directed by world-famous director Stephan Elliott (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert). Charity-wise Wilma has shown what a big heart she has by painting Sydney’s The Beresford Hotel red for World AIDS Day alongside comedian pal Joel Creasy, and helped TV star Gretel Killeen turn the Sydney Opera House into one big rainbow room for Mardi Gras 2016.
