Sam Smith's awkward streak goes to entirely new levels

You win some you lose some. Sam Smith may have won the award for 'Best Original Soundtrack' at the Oscars on Sunday but he seems to be losing his cool by constantly making situations awkward, whether its on the stage or at the afterparties.

Following the dramatic Twitter beef between Dustin Lance Black and himself, which is only just cooling down, news has surfaced on Sam's extremely awkward interactions at the Oscar afterparty and even admitted to hating his own performance.

Already making the mistake of calling himself the first openly gay Oscar winner, he dug his hole even further by saying, "Two's my lucky number." Assuming he was the second openly gay winner and, unbelievably, dug that hole even further by saying , "I think I'm the second openly gay person to win it." Also incorrect.

Later that night, a reporter informed Sam of the previous best song winner Howard Ashman, for his work with Disney's The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Sam Smith jokingly replied,

"I should know him. We should date."

Howard Ashman died from complications with AIDS in 1991.
