Dustin Lance Black calls out Sam Smith
Last night, Sam Smith took home the Oscar for 'Best Original Soundtrack', a win I'll not give my personal opinion on, but his acceptance speech is what has a lot of people very angry, including screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.
During Sam's speech he thanked the LGBT community and suggested he was happy to be the only openly gay man to win an Oscar, sparking off Dustin Lance Black who previously won 'Best Original Screenplay' for Milk back in 2009. People have assumed Sam is confused after hearing Sir Ian Mckellen speak about openly gay winners some weeks ago.
Dustin, Tom Daley's fiancé took to Twitter to publically correct Sam by saying:
"Hey @SamSmithWorld, if you have no idea who I am, it may be time to stop texting my fiancé' and went on to include a link to his winning speech at the 2009 Oscars.
Twitter seem to be taking Dustins side, calling Sam Smith a narcissist and thank Dustin for calling him out, sorry, 'correcting' him. Hopefully Sam Smith replies and Twitter explodes into a gay war.
