SAME SEX MARRIAGE IRELAND

The first same-sex weddings took place in the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday the 17th November. Tony from GNI MAG was one of the first to tie the knot. Tony and his now husband Darren had booked their wedding at the Hillgrove Hotel in Monaghan way back in January 2015, before they knew that actual marriage would be an option - assuming that they would have a Civil Partnership in Belfast before their wedding day.

They held their wedding day on Saturday 14th, a beautiful day of celebration with over 200 of their friends and family. Their son Parker walked them down the aisle and "gave them away". Celebrations carried on into the wee small hours. They completed the legal end of their marriage with two witnesses present at 11am on Tuesday 17th November.
