Vonda and Sharon smashed it!
Last night we were invited along to The Empire Music Hall and what a night it was.
From the get go Vonda and Sharon welcomed the intimate crowd (i say that in loose terms, the gig was sold out) with open arms. Unfortunately it was only in Belfast for one night otherwise i'd be advising you all to get tickets.
The 2 have been friends for years and it's great to see them join forces to entertain the masses.
The concert was so entertaining and in the nicest way so much better than I anticipated, Andrea is known as the lead singer in The Corrs with her siblings playing instruments and doing backing vocals though not anymore, this was Sharon front and centre and deservedly so sharing the stage with the amazingly talented Vonda Shepard.
Mellow pop mixed with traditional Celtic is how I would describe Sharon's music, her sound is very similar to her sisters and equally endearing, the girl has some pipes on her and we were all impressed, across the set we heard a mix of songs from her album and some classic Corr's tunes though not surprising there was a focus on her incredible violin skills. The room was pumping when she got in full flow.
Unless you lived under a rock in the 90's you will be familiar with Vonda Shepard who done the sound track of Ally McBeal, bringing us the Iconic "Searchin My Sole" and covers of classic hits such as "It's In His Kiss", "Hooked On A Feeling and my personal favourite "I Only Want To Be With You". This songstress has had a career spanning over 30 years and has sold 13 million records and counting.
The 2 ladies complemented each other impeccably with Vonda's rich lower tones and Sharon with a high register they harmonised perfectly, was a match made in heaven. No need for smoke and mirrors this was up close pure talent.
All round it was a great night
