Pvris Rock Belfast Debut

Saturday Night saw American Rock band Pvris make their Northern Irish debut at Mandela Hall to a sell out crowd, having been invited by the band following interviewing lead singer Lynn Gunn (see current issue) I was unsure what to expect so I invited the bosses daughter India who is a huge fan along to give me a hand with my review.

The night started with an electric support act by the name of "Coin" an american indie pop band that got the crowd pumping and jumping before Pvris exploded onto the stage with Lynn's haunting vocals, solid guitar rifts from Alex and Brian over a heavy drum beat provided by the bands drummer. The 1,000 strong crowd of fans knew every word and every ad-lib for all the songs and were an eclectic mix of old, young, male and female.

Pvris put their hearts and souls into the entire performance which included tracks from their latest record "All we know of Heaven all we need of hell" along with older tracks from their back catalog. Throughout the entire set Lynn showed off her musical talents by not only being lead and front woman to the band but also taking to the Drums, Guitar and even the Piano, I have to say I was personally mesmerised by the passion in her haunting vocals that put me in mind of Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee.

All in all this is was dark, loud and everything you would expect from a Rock concert and any of the fans I spoke to were not disappointment and were looking forward to seeing the band again in a bigger setting.
